Hawaii’s Clean and Sober Home Registry Provides Support for Recovery Efforts

The Hawaii Department of Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division (ADAD) has launched its Clean and Sober Home Registry for providers to begin registering their homes voluntarily at cshome.ehawaii.gov.

Act 193 Session Laws of Hawaii 2014 Relating to Group Homes established a voluntary Clean and Sober Home registry to help those in recovery from alcohol or drug addiction to more easily find and access a stable, alcohol and drug-free home-like living environment in residences that comply with federal, state and county requirements and standards. A key function of the voluntary registry is to enable agencies that refer clients to clean and sober homes to utilize residences that support recovery efforts.

“We hope the online application submittal and approval process will encourage home operators to register their homes voluntarily,” said Angela Bolan, Manager of Quality Assurance & Improvement Office, “The registry helps provide more access to clients in recovery, as well as for registered homes to better connect with their community and receive referrals.”

The online registry provides a web-based application for new registrations. In addition, after Clean and Sober Homes begin registering, the public will have the ability to search and view registered home details by city or zip code.

This service was created in partnership with Hawaii Information Consortium, the official internet portal manager of eHawaii.gov.
