Honolulu Emergency Services Department Launches Redesigned Website
We are pleased to announce the launch of a redesigned Honolulu Emergency Services Department (HESD) website at emergencyservices.honolulu.gov.
HESD consists of the Honolulu Emergency Medical Services Division, the Honolulu Ocean Safety and Lifeguard Services Division, the Health Services Branch and the Community Outreach Response and Engagement (C.O.R.E.) Branch. The Department is responsible for the safety of the 1 million residents living on Oahu and its roughly 10 million annual visitors.
“HESD’s mission is to provide 24/7 emergency medical care and services to residents and visitors of Oahu,” said Rosie Warfield, Manager of eGovernment Services at NIC Hawaii. “It was a honor to work closely with them to provide not only the essential information about their emergency response, but also to focus on preventative measures for how the public can prevent injuries in the first place.”
The site does this by providing detailed information for residents and visitors alike including:
- Request forms to ask EMS and Ocean Safety to visit schools as part of our community outreach education.
- Safety tips and resources for living and playing safely on Oahu.
- Tips for calling 911.
- Information about beach signs, lifeguard tower locations and where to sign up for alerts.
- Tips on how to prepare for 911 medical and ocean emergencies and natural disasters.
NIC Hawaii worked closely with HESD staff to design and develop the new website.
