Why did HIC change its name?

Our official business name will remain Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC. We are doing business as (dba) NIC Hawaii. We are not changing the way we do business or the way we operate. Our company has been a wholly owned subsidiary of eGovernment firm NIC Inc since the beginning. This name change simply transitions to a new way of referring to ourselves that captures the strength we bring as one unified company, working together to be the best partner we can be, especially at this time when working together is so important.

When did this name change occur?

The NIC Hawaii trade name was registered with the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs on June 8, 2020. 

Will the company’s FEIN be changing?

No, our FEIN will not change as Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC remains our official business name.

Will state/county agencies need to make a change to the state vendor code system?

Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC remains as our official business name. We are doing business as NIC Hawaii.

The vendor’s maintenance table has been updated to reflect both the official name Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC and Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC dba NIC Hawaii.

Will state/county agencies need a new W-9 form from NIC Hawaii?

Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC remains as our official business name. However, if you need a new W-9 with NIC Hawaii listed as our dba, please contact officemanager@ehawaii.gov.

Will the company name on the invoices change?

The remittance name on our invoices will change from “Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC” to “Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC dba NIC Hawaii”. We can accept checks made payable to “Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC dba NIC Hawaii” or “Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC”.

How will the company’s name be listed in Hawaii Compliance Express (HCE)?

Our company name is listed as Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC dba NIC Hawaii in HCE.
